Simon Le Scrope was the son of Robert Le Scrope. He was born in 1162 in Flotmanby, Yorkshire, England. He succeeded his brother Philip Le Scrope as Simon Le Scrope of Flotmanby in Yorkshire. He was married to Imgoline/Ingoliana (born about 1166 in Flotmanby, Yorkshire, England; she died after 1218) in 1182 in Fylingdales, Yorkshire, England.

Simon died after 1225 and was buried in the church at Wenslay (Wensley).
