Thomas Scrope - 6th Lord Scrope of Masham

Thomas Le Scrope was born about 1459 in Masham, Yorkshire, England.

Thomas, the eldest son of Sir Thomas Scrope, 5th Lord Scrope of Masham, succeeded his father whilst still a minor. He was one of the Commissioners of Array for the defence of the Marches of Scotland, and was summoned to parliament from 1482 to 1492.

He married Elizabeth Neville, daughter and heiress of the Marquis of Montacute, prior to 1477. They had an only daughter:

  • Alice - born 1481 in Masham, Yorkshire, England; married her relative, Henry, 7th Lord Scrope of Bolton; Alice inherited the estates, but, dying in 1501 in Sps without surviving issue, the barony and estates devolved upon her uncles, Henry, Ralph, and Geoffrey, in succession.

Thomas Le Scrope died on 23 April 1493.
