Simon Scrope of Danby - born 16th August, 1615

Simon Scrope, esq. of Danby was born 16th August, 1615. He was the son of Christopher Scrope, and the brother and successor of Henry Scrope.

He married in 1662 Mary, daughter of Michael Warton, esq. of Beverley, Yorkshire, England. They had children:

Simon Scrope - eldest son, heir to his father
John Scrope - born 18th September, 1668
Christopher - born 18th April, 1670
Catherine - married Nicholas Thornton, esq. of Nether Witton, in Northumberland
Mary - married Nicholas Errington Stapleton, esq. of Carleton, in the county of York
Margaret - married to John Messenger, esq. of Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire

Simon Scrope died 22nd December, 1691 and was succeeded by his eldest son, Simon Scrope.
