Sir Gervase Scrope of Hambleden, Bucks and Cockerington, Lincolnshire


Sir Gervase Scrope, knt. was the eldest son and heir to his father, Sir Adrian Scrope of Hambleden, Bucks. He was born in 1594 in Lewknor, Oxfordshire, England. Sir Gervase was high sheriff of Lincoln in 1634.

He married in 1613 Catherine, daughter of John Hungerford, esq. in the county of Wilts (Wiltshire, England). They had on daughter and two sons:

  • Catherine - 7th November, 1614 in Cockerington, Lincolnshire
  • Sir Adrian Scrope - eldest son and succesor of his father, born 1616 in Cockerington, Lincolnshire; buried 5th September, 1667
  • St. Leger - born about 1520 in Louth, Lincolnshire, England; left Carr and other issue

Sir Gervase was buried 24th May 1655.
